Accounts
Smart accounting with AI
A complete double-entry ledger with GST built in — invoices, purchases, receipts, payments, journals and contra, all posting through one engine so the trial balance is always the trial balance.
What Accounts does
One posting engine
Every document — invoice, bill, receipt, payment, note, journal — funnels through a single journal writer. There is no second path that can post a different number, which is why the ledger and the registers never disagree.
GST at the line, not bolted on
Tax type resolves from place of supply against your registration, per line. Intra/inter is derived, not typed, so the CGST/SGST-versus-IGST mistake that drives most notices cannot be made by hand.
Schedule III statements
The note-numbered Balance Sheet and P&L a company actually files, classified from the same grouping the T-format statements use — so the two can never disagree about profit.
Audit trail and voucher history
Every write is diffed and versioned. Deleted vouchers keep their history, and optimistic-concurrency tokens mean two people editing one invoice cannot silently overwrite each other.
AI capabilities
Ask your books
ComputedA persona-framed question answered over a computed snapshot of your ledger — the figures come from the same engines the reports use.
AI CFO report
ComputedA board-style read of the month, grounded on a computed CFO snapshot. The numbers are calculated; only the commentary is generated.

Questions
Is it real double-entry?+
Yes. Every document posts a balanced journal through one writer, and the general ledger is rebuildable from source documents at any time.
Can I run more than one company?+
Yes — multi-company is built in, with a firm-wide rollup across clients for practices.
Does it work offline?+
On the Desktop edition, entirely — the database is local. The Cloud edition needs a connection, except for the POS till which queues offline and replays.
Is Accounts in both the Desktop and Cloud editions?+
Yes — Accounts ships in both the Desktop Suite and the Cloud Suite. The Desktop edition runs it against a local database on your own machine with the network unplugged; the Cloud edition runs it in the browser with roles, approvals and an audit trail over the same books. You choose the edition when you sign up, and the application is the same one either way.
What does Accounts actually include?+
Double-entry accounting, GST-ready, with AI assistance. In practice that means one posting engine, gst at the line, not bolted on, schedule iii statements and audit trail and voucher history — each of which is a working screen rather than a line on a roadmap. The full breakdown, with what every one of them does, is on this page above.
Does Accounts work with the rest of LekhaPro, or is it separate?+
It is not a separate product and there is nothing to integrate. Accounts reads and writes the same database as the ledger, stock and customer master, so a figure it shows is the figure the books hold — not a copy synced overnight, and not a number you have to reconcile against another screen before you trust it.
What else comes with Accounts?+
Accounts sits in the Finance group of the catalogue, alongside GST, Billing & Invoicing, Banking, Expenses and Fixed Assets and 2 more. They are separate applications with their own screens, not modules of each other — but they share one database, so what you enter in any of them is immediately real to the rest.
What does the AI in Accounts actually do?+
Ask your books and AI CFO report are computed by tested engines, not by a language model — switch the AI off and those figures are all still there and still correct. What the model contributes is the sentence around the number and the routing that brings it to you. Nothing writes to your books without you approving it.
Which businesses is Accounts for?+
It is built for Traders & Distributors, Legal & Consulting and Wholesale & Distribution in particular, and it is not exclusive to them — Accounts is part of the horizontal suite, so any business on LekhaPro can switch it on. Those trades are named because their industry pages describe how Accounts is used in that specific line of work.
Can I control who sees Accounts?+
Yes. Access is by role rather than all-or-nothing, so a billing clerk can reach Accounts without reaching the books behind it, and an approver can see what needs a decision without editing anything else. On the Cloud edition every change also carries who made it and when.
