GST billing & accounting software in Ladakh
Yes — LekhaPro runs GST billing and posted double-entry accounting for businesses across Ladakh, whose GSTINs all begin with state code 38. Supplies inside Ladakh split to CGST + UTGST; anything crossing the border becomes IGST. Run it offline on Windows, or from a browser.
Ladakh at a glance — what changes by state
Most of what differs between one Indian state and another in business software is set at state level, not city level. These are the Ladakh values that change how the software behaves or what you have to file. Where a figure is set by notification and we have not verified the current one, the row says so rather than printing a number that may have moved.

LekhaPro reads the GST state code and resolves tax automatically. The remaining rows are context for your compliance calendar — the software does not file them for you, and there is no payroll module, so professional tax in particular is yours or your CA's to handle.
How tax resolves on a Ladakh invoice
- 1.Your GSTIN begins 38. So does every other Ladakh registration.
- 2.Buyer's GSTIN also starts 38 → the supply is intra-state → CGST + UTGST, split evenly.
- 3.Buyer's GSTIN starts with any other code → inter-state → IGST at the full rate.
- 4.Unregistered buyer → place of supply falls back to the delivery address, and the same test applies to that address's state.
- 5.The GST error catcher flags any invoice billed under the wrong head before it reaches GSTR-1.
You never pick the head manually — it is derived. That matters most for a Ladakh business selling across the border regularly, where a mis-keyed head is the single most common reason a return has to be amended.

What it does not do — in Ladakh or anywhere
- · No payroll, attendance or HR — so no professional tax computation and no Form 24Q, in Ladakh or any other state.
- · No automated Tally import yet. Masters and opening balances are brought across for a clean start on a date you choose.
- · No native mobile app. The Cloud edition runs in a mobile browser; the Desktop edition is Windows only.
- · We do not file for you. Returns and e-way bills are prepared from your books; submission stays with you or your CA.
- · No office in Ladakh — support is email and WhatsApp from an India-based team, with no local branch or reseller.
Two ways to run it: the Desktop edition (offline, or LAN multi-counter) or the Cloud edition (any browser). Plans and GST-inclusive totals are on pricing; the terms used above are defined in the place of supply and e-way bill glossary entries.
Questions Ladakh businesses ask
Does LekhaPro work for businesses registered in Ladakh?
Yes. LekhaPro is India-wide GST accounting and billing software, and Ladakh businesses run it with no state-specific setup beyond your own GSTIN and company details. Every GSTIN issued in Ladakh begins with state code 38, and the software reads that code to decide how each invoice is taxed.
What is the GST state code for Ladakh?
38. It is the first two digits of every GSTIN registered in Ladakh, so a registration there reads 38XXXXXXXXXXXZX. LekhaPro uses it to resolve place of supply on every invoice you raise.
When does a Ladakh business charge CGST + UTGST instead of IGST?
Charge CGST + UTGST when the place of supply is inside Ladakh — both GSTINs start with 38 — and IGST when the buyer is in any other state. LekhaPro derives this from the two GSTINs rather than asking you to pick, and the GST error catcher flags any invoice billed under the wrong head before it is filed.
Can I file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for a Ladakh GSTIN?
Yes. Both returns, plus GSTR-2B reconciliation, are generated from your own posted books for any GSTIN including a 38 one. LekhaPro prepares the return and surfaces mismatches before submission; filing on the GST portal stays with you or your CA.
What is the e-way bill threshold for moving goods within Ladakh?
₹50,000 for an intra-state movement in Ladakh, per Rule 138(1), CGST Rules · cbic-gst.gov.in (checked 2026-08-05). Inter-state movements follow the national ₹50,000 rule. LekhaPro generates the e-way bill JSON either way, and confirm the current figure against your state notification before relying on it.
Does professional tax apply in Ladakh?
Not levied — per J&K Reorganisation Act 2019, Fifth Schedule · igr.jk.gov.in, checked 2026-08-05. Note that LekhaPro does not compute or file professional tax: there is no payroll module in the product at all, so this is context for your compliance calendar rather than something the software handles.
Which Ladakh cities do you have pages for?
None individually yet — the state page covers the whole of Ladakh. The software is identical across them; the city pages exist because local trade differs, not because the product does. Nothing is city-locked and there is no separate Ladakh edition.
Do you have an office or a reseller in Ladakh?
No. LekhaPro is sold and supported online across India, with email and WhatsApp support from an India-based team — there is no Ladakh branch, no local partner and no on-site visit. If a local physical presence is a requirement for you, that is a fair reason to choose someone else.
We have branches inside and outside Ladakh — does that work?
Yes. Several companies and GSTINs live under one login with separate books, and a stock or service movement from Ladakh (code 38) to another state is treated as the IGST transaction it legally is rather than an internal transfer. Roles decide who sees which company.
Does LekhaPro handle Ladakh RERA reporting?
The Real Estate module tracks bookings, instalments and collections against projects registered with Not yet established (per MoHUA, Apr 2024) (mohua.gov.in RERA implementation status, checked 2026-08-05). It does not submit to the authority for you — it produces the project and collection figures the filing is built from.
