A semantic layer, not a second set of numbers
A dataset is a scoped view over an existing read — not a copy. Every measure either aggregates a projected field of its own dataset or names a real engine read, and the model browser shows an integrity badge per measure. A business glossary, optional per-dataset materialisation and column-level security with masking sit alongside it, and the caller’s tenant and branch scope is injected into every leaf read — so a cross-module join can’t surface rows a user isn’t allowed to see.
Pivot it, chart it, put it on a wall
Analytics Studio lets you pick a dataset, drag dimensions onto rows and columns and measures into the value area, then run — a cross-tab matrix with row subtotals and grand totals, a chart, Excel/CSV/PDF export and a save-as-report-definition. The Dashboards builder assembles curated layouts from the same widget catalogue and versions each saved snapshot, and the Executive Cockpit renders a read-only board view with a composite health header above the resolved tiles.
KPIs, scorecards and watchers
The KPI library binds each KPI to a semantic measure with a direction, format, target, good/warn thresholds and a weight. The evaluation engine is pure and integer-only: it turns actual against target and bands into a status and a variance in basis points, then rolls weighted KPIs into a single 0–100 composite and an A–F grade. Metric Alerts add threshold, percent-change and statistical-anomaly (σ) rules with an on-demand scan that records every breach.
Ask in English, deliver on a schedule
The AI Analyst maps a plain-English question onto a governed pivot spec, answers accept, clarify or reject, then runs it through the same query engine the studio uses — so the answer is the studio’s answer, with an optional written narration on top and a recent-questions audit list. Report Schedules bind a saved report to a daily-to-annual period, a PDF, XLSX, CSV or PPTX format, an optional burst axis (one file per branch, department or salesperson) and email recipients.

Frequently asked
Does BI copy my data into a warehouse?
No. A dataset is a view over an existing read, so there is nothing to keep in sync. Heavy datasets can be materialised as a snapshot for speed, and you rebuild one — or all of them — from the model browser.
Can a dashboard number disagree with a report?
It shouldn’t. The model carries a no-new-math contract: a measure either aggregates a projected field of its own dataset or names an existing engine read, and the browser badges which. The BI layer computes no business figure of its own.
Is Business Intelligence part of the offline desktop app?
No — it ships in the Cloud edition as its own grantable module, so you can give analysts the Intelligence menu without opening the rest of the books. It does not run in, or sync to, the offline desktop edition.
Do scheduled reports need anything switched on?
The scheduled tick runs when the server scheduler is enabled. Run-now always executes, and the generated file lands in the document store where you can download it from the schedule’s run history.

CGST/SGST and IGST are split from HSN or SAC and place of supply as each document is raised, so whatever business intelligence · cloud edition produces is already correct when GSTR-1, 3B and 2B reconciliation are drawn off the same books. The return matches the accounts because it was never a separate exercise.
