Windows may show a “Windows protected your PC” notice for new apps — click More info → Run anyway (and Keep if your browser asks). The installer is safe; the prompt only appears until the app builds download reputation.

Safe & private

Works fully offline — your data never leaves your computer. The app keeps itself up to date automatically once installed.

Always up to date — automatically

The installer keeps LekhaPro current for you. When you open the app it checks for the latest version and updates in the background — no reinstalling, no downloading from a website. Updates are free and included in every plan, for as long as you subscribe.

  • GST changes handled — when rates, return formats or e-invoice rules change, we ship an update so you stay compliant.
  • Never on an old build — compliance-critical updates roll out as required updates before you file.
  • Your data stays put — updates touch only the app, never your local books or backups.

What’s new in 1.0.53

  • Registration now asks which modules you are licensing (Accounts / Pharma); module changes made on the portal now reflect in the app's menus; multi-user LAN is off unless you turn it on.

Before you install

Which download should I pick — installer or portable?

The installer, unless you have a reason not to: it gives you a Start-menu shortcut, a guided setup and automatic updates. The portable build is a single .exe that runs from a USB drive with its data sitting next to the file — right for a machine you cannot install on, or for carrying a counter between sites.

Why does Windows warn me about the file?

New applications without a long download history trigger Windows SmartScreen by default — the notice reads “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway, and Keep if the browser asks. The prompt is about download reputation, not about anything found in the file, and it stops appearing as the app builds history.

Do I need the licence key before installing?

No — install first, activate after. The installer itself is freely downloadable; the application asks for your key on first launch. Starting a free trial issues a key instantly, and an existing key is on your dashboard under your account.

What does it need to run?

An ordinary business PC on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. There is no server to provision and no database to install — the books are a local file on your own disk. A solid-state disk helps more than anything else, because that is what makes a large ledger feel instant. There is no macOS or Linux build today.

Does installing need the internet?

Only for the download itself and the one-time activation. After that the application runs fully offline — billing, accounting, GST, inventory and reports all work with the network unplugged. AI features and your subscription are the two things that reach out, and licence checks have a 30-day offline grace period.

How do updates arrive?

Automatically, in the background, when the app is opened — no reinstalling and no downloading from this page again. Updates are free in every plan, and compliance-critical changes such as GST rate or return-format updates roll out as required updates before you file. Updates touch only the application, never your books or backups.

Can I install on more than one computer?

Yes, up to the device count your plan allows — one machine on the entry tier, two to three on Pro, more above that. In an office the machines connect over your local network to the PC that holds the books, fully offline. Replacing a computer means installing there and pointing at your database file, not repurchasing.

Where does my data go when I install?

Into a database file on a disk you choose — the default is local, and a network share or second drive works too. Uninstalling the application does not delete your books, and stopping your subscription leaves the file readable on your own machine.

I run the counter from a browser — do I need this at all?

No. This download is the Desktop edition. The Cloud edition runs in any browser with nothing to install and updates applied for everyone at once — if that is how your business works, sign up and skip this page entirely. The two editions share the same plans, so you are not paying differently for the choice.
