What this actually means in practice
Retail is judged at the counter. The bill must ring up in a few keystrokes with a barcode scanner doing most of the work, hold a mixed basket of MRP-inclusive and rate-plus-tax lines, apply the scheme or discount without an argument at the till, and print an 80mm receipt instantly. Behind that, stock has to fall the moment the bill is saved, margins have to reflect landed cost, and the till must keep working when the broadband does not.
Migration in retail is mostly the item master. Products, barcodes, HSN codes, MRPs, rates, suppliers and customer records import from a spreadsheet, and you enter closing stock as opening quantities on the changeover date — a physical count is the honest way to do it. Historical bills do not come across; no automated import from GoFrugal or any other till system exists yet.
