What this actually means in practice

Selling on to retailers means price is never one number. The same carton goes out at several different rates depending on who is buying, how much of it they take and which scheme is running that fortnight. Kept in a diary, this becomes an argument on the telephone every second week. Kept as party-wise price lists with quantity slabs, the biller picks the right rate automatically and the retailer's own copy of the deal matches yours.

Schemes sit on top of that. Buy-X-get-Y, a percentage off or a flat value are all held against the product with dates and a priority, and the best qualifying one is applied to the line as it is billed. Free goods issue at nil value but still move stock and carry cost, which is the part hand-written schemes always lose. Multi-godown stock and batch-and-expiry handling are there for the lines that need them.

Then there is the money and the lorry. Retailers pay on their cycle, not yours, so outstanding, ageing and credit limits are the working screen, not a month-end report. The despatch itself needs the invoice, the delivery challan and the e-way bill to agree with each other and with what is actually on the vehicle — all three come from one entry, and several people can bill at once over the LAN while the office watches the day build.

How a wholesale line price is arrived at, in the order it is applied
Step in the price build-upHow it is decided
Base rateThe item's rate on that buyer's price list, not one company-wide rate.
Quantity slabThe price-list row whose minimum quantity the billed line reaches.
SchemeBest qualifying active scheme by priority: free quantity, percentage or flat value.
Free goodsIssued at nil value; stock still moves and the cost still lands.
Credit checkParty limit read against outstanding — warn the biller or block the sale.
Tax and despatchGST by place of supply; invoice, challan and e-way bill from one entry.

What’s included

  • Party-wise price lists & schemes
  • Credit limits & ageing
  • Batch & expiry (optional)
  • Multi-godown stock
  • LAN multi-user
  • GST — offline

What it does not do

  • · Your retailers' onward sales do not flow in automatically — secondary sales and stock lying with retailers have to be entered or imported.
  • · E-way bill and e-invoice documents are prepared from your invoices, but live generation needs your own GST Suvidha Provider credentials; otherwise they export as JSON to upload yourself.
  • · The Desktop edition is Windows-only and serves one site over the LAN; field sales staff and a second depot need the Cloud edition.

Frequently asked

Does it support price lists and schemes?

Yes — apply party- and quantity-wise price lists and buy-X-get-Y / discount schemes automatically.

Can several people bill at once?

Yes — one PC hosts the books and others connect over the LAN for multi-user billing.

Is it GST-ready?

Yes — full GST returns on a posted ledger, offline.

How do party-wise rates and schemes work together on one line?

The rate comes first, from the buyer's price list and the slab their quantity reaches. The scheme is then applied to that line — the best qualifying active scheme by priority and benefit — as free quantity, a percentage or a flat amount. Free goods go out at nil value but still reduce stock and carry their cost into margin.

Does it produce e-way bills for despatches?

Yes — the e-way bill is prepared from the invoice you have already raised, with transporter, vehicle and distance details, so nothing is retyped. Live generation on the portal uses your own GST Suvidha Provider credentials; without them the same document exports as JSON for you to upload. Thresholds and validity apply as notified.

What exactly is included in Wholesale · distribution?

bulk multi-line billing, party-wise price lists & schemes, credit limits & ageing, batch & expiry (optional), multi-godown stock and LAN multi-user, and 1 more. Every item on that list is a working screen you can open in the trial rather than a capability described in the abstract.

How is wholesale · distribution handled differently here?

It rests on bulk billing, credit & collections and distribution-ready. The distinction that matters is that these are structural rather than cosmetic — the behaviour is built into how records are posted, not layered on as a report you have to remember to run.

Does Wholesale · distribution work offline?

On the Desktop edition, yes — completely. bulk multi-line billing and party-wise price lists & schemes run against a local database on your own machine, so the screens behave the same with the network unplugged as with it connected. AI and billing are the only two things that reach out. On the Cloud edition wholesale · distribution runs in the browser and needs a connection.

Does Wholesale · distribution post to the real books?

Yes, and that is the whole reason it lives in this product rather than beside it. What bulk billing records lands in the same posted double-entry ledger the Trial Balance, P&L and GST returns are built from — so there is no second set of wholesale · distribution numbers to reconcile against the first.

Can I try Wholesale · distribution before committing?

Yes — 14 days, no card. Test wholesale · distribution against your own masters and your own transactions rather than sample data: the questions worth answering here are about your business's edge cases, and a demo dataset is built not to have any.
