Privacy Policy

LekhaPro Desktop keeps your accounting books on your own machine in a local database with encrypted backups. We do not store, sync or have access to your books. This website and the cloud control plane only handle your account, subscription/payment, licensing and the optional AI gateway.

• Account data: name, work email, company name and GST details you provide at signup.
• Authentication: we use passwordless email OTP — we never store passwords.
• Billing: plan, invoices and payment status. Card/UPI details are handled by our payment processor (Razorpay); we never see your full card number.
• Licensing: license key and device fingerprints used to enforce seat limits.
• Lead data: details you submit via Contact, Book-a-demo, newsletter or our free tools.
• Usage & device data: with your consent, anonymous analytics (see our Cookie Policy).
• AI gateway (Enterprise): prompts you send are proxied to the configured model provider and metered for usage; provider keys never touch your machine.

• To provide and secure your account, subscription and license.
• To send transactional email (OTP, billing, important notices).
• To respond to sales and support enquiries.
• With consent, to measure and improve the product and our marketing.

We do not sell your personal data.

We use strictly-necessary cookies to run the site (session, theme, your consent choice). Analytics and marketing cookies load only after you accept them. You can change your choice anytime via Cookie preferences. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

We share data only with processors that help us run the service, under appropriate safeguards:

• Razorpay — payments.
• Amazon Web Services (SES) — transactional email.
• Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta — analytics/marketing, only with consent.
• AI providers (e.g. Anthropic) — only for Enterprise AI gateway requests you initiate.

We keep account, billing and licensing records for as long as your account is active and as required by Indian tax and accounting law. Lead data is kept until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer needed.

You may ask us to access, correct or erase your personal data, and you may withdraw consent at any time. These requests are handled manually by our team rather than through a self-service control in the app: email privacy@lekha.pro and we will acknowledge within 72 hours and complete the request within 30 days, or tell you why we cannot.

Where we are required by Indian tax, GST and companies law to retain accounting records, we will erase what we lawfully can and tell you plainly what must be retained and for how long. We would rather set that expectation here than discover it with you mid-request.

In accordance with the Information Technology Rules, 2021 and the DPDP Act, 2023, complaints about the handling of your personal data may be addressed to the Grievance Officer, Global Synapse Technologies, at grievance@lekha.pro — 218-A, 1st Floor, Rama Market, Pitampura, Delhi – 110034, India.

We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
