Frequently asked questions

What is the e-invoicing turnover limit?

E-invoicing is mandatory if your aggregate turnover crossed ₹5 crore in any financial year since 2017-18. The threshold has been lowered in phases from ₹500 crore (2020) down to ₹5 crore (Aug 2023).

Does e-invoicing apply to B2C sales?

No. E-invoicing applies to B2B supplies, exports and credit/debit notes. B2C invoices are exempt (though a dynamic QR may apply separately for large B2C suppliers).

What counts as aggregate turnover?

All-India PAN-level turnover including taxable, exempt, export and inter-unit supplies — not just one GSTIN.
